From the onset of the process of accession to the European Union, Croatian businesses have increased cooperation with its institutions and members states. Privredna Banka Zagreb was the first Croatian bank that recognised the needs of its clients – large companies, small and medium enterprises, small private businesses and agricultural businesses – for information on the pre-accession funding opportunities, possible cooperation with enterprises in EU member countries, and concrete assistance in applying for money from the pre-accession funds.
To this end, the Bank established a specialised office – the EU Desk, and it decided to take an active part in the processes which are of great importance for Croatian enterprises.
