Deposit insurance for small enterprises
Did you know that the state insures deposits for business entities?
Deposit insurance is a system enabling citizens, entrepreneurs and non-profit organisations to quickly and effortlessly return their deposits held at credit institution in the event of its bankruptcy, so they do not have to participate in long-term bankruptcy proceedings.
All deposits held by citizens (natural persons), small entrepreneurs and non-profit institutions in credit institutions registered in the Republic of Croatia are insured.
The deposit that a depositor held in a credit institution at the moment the institution became unable to pay it out is insured, the deposit insurance limit being EUR 100,000 on the day the Croatian National Bank ascertained the inaccessibility of the deposit.
In accordance with the Deposit Insurance Act, all credit institutions registered in the Republic of Croatia are obligated to become members of the deposit insurance system. This means that all deposits in all credit institutions registered in the Republic of Croatia are insured.
In accordance with the Deposit Insurance Act, as soon as the Croatian National Bank declares deposits in a credit institution inaccessible, the Agency is obligated to ensure the start of the deposit payout within 20 to 30 working days.
You can find the compensation payment procedure on the website of the State Agency for Deposit Insurance and Bank Resolution.
