Green Loans and Circular Economy
Privredna banka Zagreb, as a member of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, has joined the UN initiative Net-Zero Banking Alliance to bolster common efforts in the fight against climate change.
As part of the banking alliance, PBZ has committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2030 in terms of its own emissions and by 2050 for its loan and investment portfolios. The objectives of sustainable business growth combine three key factors: environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG), which further include circular economy and green projects.
Privredna banka Zagreb, as a financial institution, supports its clients in designing a new economic system, while circular economy and sustainable growth represent a great opportunity for all stakeholders in the economy and their integration towards achieving the common goal.
In 2015, the ISP Group became a strategic partner of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, one of the most influential global organisations dedicated to the circular economy and sustainability.
Together with its partner, the Group set five main eligibility criteria for the circular economy:
- solutions aimed at extending the life of products and/or materials
- using renewable/recycled resources
- increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of resource consumption
- products that allow the complete recycling or decomposition of materials
- innovative technologies enabling the development of circular business models
as well as three criteria for green projects:
- the production and transfer of renewable energy
- energy efficiency in manufacturing processes and buildings
- the sustainable management of natural resources and biodiversity.
The above criteria help identify eligible projects for more favourable financing conditions with Privredna banka Zagreb.
All information and support in identifying and defining the met CE criteria are available through the business relationship manager, while additional support is available through the SME Innovation Centre at sme_inovacija@pbz.hr, where you can directly obtain answers to any questions you might have.
