PBZ donated around €50,000 to the Dugave Center

A donation of €49,388.14 from the PBZ Group enabled the Zagreb – Dugave Community Services Center to purchase two electric vehicles and a charging station.

Zagreb, 26 March 2026 – As part of its humanitarian project “Doing Good Every Day” and the “Visa Card with a Heart”, the PBZ Group, part of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, has donated €49,388.14 to the Zagreb – Dugave Community Services Center. This is the PBZ Group’s 102nd donation within this project, and the donated funds enabled the Center to acquire two electric vehicles and an electric vehicle charging station.

On the occasion of the donation handover to the Zagreb – Dugave Community Services Center, Dinko Lucić, President of the Management Board of Privredna banka Zagreb, stated: “I am pleased to be here today at the Zagreb – Dugave Community Services Center and that with this latest donation we are once again confirming our strong commitment to socially responsible business, which we foster, among other things, through our long‑standing project “Doing Good Every Day” and the “Visa Card with a Heart”, which, in addition to standard financial benefits, also carries a strong humanitarian component. As part of this project, for every transaction made with the “Visa Card with a Heart” we donate 10 euro cents for the benefit of children and young people, at no cost to the card users. So far, we have donated more than €5.4 million  and carried out 102 donations, including to hospitals and children’s homes across Croatia. We will continue “Doing Good Every Day” in 2026 – the 18th year of this project, in which, in addition to the Zagreb – Dugave Center, we will also provide electric vehicles to other children’s homes, enabling safer transportation and higher‑quality services for their beneficiaries, while at the same time contributing to environmental protection”.

The event was also attended by the Minister of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy, Prof. Alen Ružić, MD, PhD, and the State Secretary at the Ministry, Marija Pletikosa. On this occasion, the Minister stated: “Caring for the well-being of children and young people is a fundamental responsibility of every individual, as well as of the community and society as a whole. It must remain at the centre of our actions, policies and cooperation. This humanitarian initiative is an excellent example of such social responsibility and partnership, and its contribution to improving the quality of life of children in social welfare institutions is truly invaluable.”

The Zagreb – Dugave Community Services Center has for many years been providing social welfare services at several locations to meet the social‑protection needs of children and young people with certain behavioural difficulties. The Center offers accommodation, day care, temporary accommodation, organized housing, full‑day and half‑day programs, intensive professional support, supervision of child care, and many other services, caring for 500  beneficiaries every day.

“Thanks to the PBZ Group’s donation, which enabled us to purchase two electric vehicles and equip a charging station, we will be better able to achieve our goal of supporting our beneficiaries within their family environment through the process of deinstitutionalization and transformation of the institution, preventing the institutionalization of children and young people and their separation from their families, and contributing to the successful socialization of our children. This goal requires greater and more efficient mobility of our professionals so they can reach families living in the City of Zagreb and Zagreb County more easily and quickly. Since these are electric vehicles, we will save significant funds that we can redirect to other needs, while also contributing to reducing environmental pollution.

I would like to thank the PBZ Group and the Ministry of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy for their cooperation and support in making this donation possible”, said Božo Vrkljan, Director of the Zagreb – Dugave Community Services Center.
