PBZ Group Donates €27,000 to the Centre “Mir”

Kaštel Novi/Zagreb, August 7, 2025 As part of its humanitarian initiative Doing Good Every Day and the Visa Card with a Heart programme, PBZ Group, a member of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, has donated €27,000 to the Community Services Centre “Mir”. This marks the 98th donation made by PBZ Group under this project. The funds were used by the Centre to construct and equip a children’s playground and an outdoor fitness area. The donation was made in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy, a long-standing partner of PBZ Group in this humanitarian initiative. It forms part of the Ministry’s project entitled “For a Better Life for Children in Social Welfare Homes”. 

“At PBZ Group, we are committed to socially responsible business practices, continuously seeking ways to support the wider community through our daily operations, with particular focus on vulnerable groups. This commitment is reflected in our Doing Good Every Day initiative and the Visa Card with a Heart programme.  Through this project, we support the community by donating 10 cents for every transaction made with the Visa Card with a Heart, at no cost to the cardholders, to initiatives aimed at helping children and young people. That is why I am delighted to be here today in Kaštel Novi, at the Centre ‘Mir’, which provides daily care and services to many children with developmental disabilities from our local community. I sincerely hope that the new playground and outdoor fitness area will support their development and bring joy to their play,” said Maja Taslak, Regional Director for Retail Banking, Privredna banka Zagreb.  

The Community Services Centre “Mir” in Kaštel Novi is a public social welfare institution operating since 1997. It provides services to children with developmental disabilities and adults with intellectual disabilities. Through its programmes of early developmental support, psychosocial assistance, day care, supported housing, residential care and in-home support, the Centre provides services to approximately 300 beneficiaries.

“We are truly grateful that, thanks to the donation from PBZ Group, we will now be able to offer our beneficiaries additional outdoor facilities alongside existing ones, which will further contribute to their sensorimotor development and overall quality of life. Donation to the Community Services Centre “Mir” was realized as part of the socially responsible business project of the PBZ Group, a member of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, called "Doing Good Every Day". This project has been continuously implemented by the PBZ group since 2008, providing aid to national, long-term projects for the welfare of children and young people and other persons in need of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy, setting aside 10 cents for each transaction made with a Visa card with a Heart, with no additional cost for card holders. So far, PBZ Group has granted more than € 5 million for the project “Doing Good Every Day” and realised 98 donations, including hospitals and social care homes throughout Croatia.
