PBZ Group's donation to Special Hospital Goljak

Zagreb, July 31, 2023 – PBZ Group, a part of Intesa Sanpaolo Group has, as a part of its humanitarian project „Doing Good Every Day“ and Visa Card with a Heart realised its 73rd donation. The donation totalling to € 27.872 has enabled three daily care hospitals of the Special Hospital for the Protection of Children with neurodevelopmental and motoric disorders to be equipped with various motor and physiotherapy equipment. 

The donation was presented on behalf of PBZ Group by Mislav Blažić, President of the Management Board of PBZ Card, who said on that occasion: "I am happy that today, thanks to our project "Doing Good Every Day" and the Visa Card with a Heart, we are in the Special Hospital for the protection of children with neurodevelopmental and motoric disorders and that we can present them with a donation that will enable better treatment of their little patients. We have long-standing partnership relations with this hospital. The special hospital in Goljak plays a significant role in the treatment of children exposed to neurorisks, both from the Zagreb area and other parts of Croatia. The hospital is one of the founders of the Ministry of Health's project "Monitoring children with neurorisks", which we have been actively supporting for fourteen years, which is confirmed by the 39 donations that we have granted to paediatric departments and children's hospitals throughout Croatia. Since our goal is to help the most vulnerable group of society – children, in which this hospital plays a significant role, we have donated various medical equipment to it on several occasions for more successful treatment of children with neurodevelopmental disorders", Blažić concluded.

With its humanitarian donations, the PBZ Group has, effectively and unobtrusively, supported the development of innovative projects of the Special Hospital for the Protection of Children with neurodevelopmental and motoric disorders, such as the introduction of robotic therapy or the habilitation of the children highly exposed to neurorisks. The last donation in 2023 enhanced physiotherapy equipment, didactic toys and materials necessary for the work of three daily care hospitals: Children's daily care hospitals of the school department organized at three locations in the City of Zagreb, daily care hospital for the infants and young children and Mother-Child Daily Care Hospital, where children come from all over Croatia. The donations granted by the PBZ Group have left a deep mark by providing dignity, efficiency, safety and better working conditions in the hospital, accompanied by the smiles of the children, their caregivers and professional medical staff“, said Ivana Kern, PhD – Director of the Special Hospital for the protection of children with neurodevelopmental and motoric disorders.   

Donation to the Special Hospital for the protection of children with neurodevelopmental and motoric disorders is a part of the socially responsible business project of PBZ Group, a member of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, which the Group has been implementing for fifteen years under the name “Doing Good Every Day”. Through this project, PBZ Group supports national, long-term projects for the benefit of children and young people and other people in need launched by Ministry of Health and Ministry of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy, setting aside, for each transaction made by Visa card with a heart, 10 cents, at no additional cost to card users. So far, PBZ Group has set aside € 4.3 million for the project “Doing Good Every Day” and realised 73 donations, including hospitals and social care homes throughout Croatia.
