Zagreb, April 9, 2020 - After a donation of HRK 1 million to the Infectious Diseases Clinic “Dr. Fran Mihaljević” in Zagreb, PBZ Group donates an additional HRK 3.5 million to hospitals. This donation is a part of PBZ Group's efforts in these extraordinary circumstances to assist healthcare institutions in combating the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) and treating our fellow citizens, and remedying the aftermaths of the devastating earthquake that hit the city of Zagreb and its surroundings. The donation totalling to HRK 3.5 million covers seven hospitals to receive donations amounting to HRK 500,000 each: Clinical Hospital "Sveti Duh", Children’s Hospital Srebrnjak, Clinical Hospital Dubrava, Infectious Diseases Clinic „Dr. Fran Mihaljević“, KBC Sestre milosrdnice (Clinical Hospital Sisters of Charity), Clinical Hospital Merkur and University Hospital Centre Zagreb – Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics.
"There is only one Croatia, we should always keep that in mind and help our country whenever we can, especially now in these extraordinary circumstances. In response to our community's needs, in early February we donated one million HRK to the Infectious Diseases Clinic "Dr. Fran Mihaljević" for the purchase of medical equipment. Today, two months later, faced with COVID-19 pandemic and a powerful earthquake, we have decided to donate an additional HRK 3.5 million to hospitals for necessary medical equipment. This donation is a part of our socially responsible business project "Doing Good Every Day", through which we continuously support national, long-term projects intended for well-being of children and young people, but we also respond to the current needs of our society”, said Dinko Lucić, CEO of Privredna banka Zagreb.
"On this occasion, I want to thank PBZ Group once again for recognizing the need and initiative to provide higher quality work in earthquake-damaged health care facilities and thus facilitate daily care for patients during the coronavirus epidemic", said Vili Beroš, MD, PhD., Minister of Health.
PBZ Group made a donation amounting to HRK 3.5 million as part of its humanitarian project "Doing Good Deeds Every Day”, through which it has been providing aid to the community for over ten years. The Group launched the project back in 2008 to continuously and long-term assist the community in which it operates, allocating one HRK for each transaction made with a Visa Card with a Heart, at no additional cost to card holders. For the project "Doing Good Every Day”, PBZ Group has so far raised around HRK 19 million and made a total of 48 donations to hospitals and social care centres across Croatia.
