Zagreb, July 13, 2020 - With the latest donation, realized with the funds collected for the humanitarian project "Doing Good Every Day", the PBZ group will provide better health care for small patients of the Zagreb Clinical Hospital Merkur. This is a donation in the amount of HRK 147,500.00, which was used to purchase a much-needed table for resuscitation and thermal therapy of the newborns and premature infants, which will be used by the Department of Neonatology at the CH Merkur. "We want to thank the PBZ group for donating a table for resuscitation of the newborns. About 2,100 newborns are born annually in the CH Merkur, of which 10% are vitally endangered and require assistance after birth.
This modern resuscitation table allows us the best possible care for the newborns after birth. We are also looking forward to future cooperation with the PBZ Group in order to achieve the highest quality health care for our small patients,” said PhD Mario Starešinić, MD, principal of the CH Merkur.
"I am glad that with our project " Doing Good Every Day” we helped the most vulnerable group of our society – newborns, small patients of the CH Merkur. After donating significant funds in helping hospitals purchase the necessary equipment to treat people with COVID-19 or repair the damage caused by the recent earthquake, we continue to support long-term projects for children and young people. We hope that the donated device will enable better health care and a safer future for our youngest citizens", said Mislav Blažić, CEO of PBZ Card.
The donation to the CH Merkur is a part of the socially responsible business project of the PBZ Group, a member of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, which the PBZ Group has been implementing for more than twelve years under the name "Doing Good Every Day". Thanks to the funds gathered for the respective project, PBZ Group provides aid to two national projects for the benefit of children and young people: "Monitoring the Children Exposed to Neurological Risks” initiated by the Ministry of Health and “For a Better Life for Children in Social Care Homes” initiated by the Ministry for Demography, Family, Youth and Social Policy and meets the actual needs of our community in a way that for every transaction made with Visa Card with a Heart it donates one Croatian Kuna, without additional cost for its users. For the project "Doing Good Every Day”, PBZ Group has so far raised more than HRK 20 million and made a total of 49 donations to hospitals and social care centres across Croatia.
