Osijek/Zagreb, April 29, 2021 – PBZ Group, a member of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, continues to support projects for the benefit of children and youth across the country as part of its humanitarian project "Doing Good Every Day". With the latest donation in the amount of HR 273,303 , it enabled the renovation of the sports hall of the Centre for the Upbringing of Children and Youth in Osijek.
"We are looking forward to every opportunity to help children and young people in Croatia. Therefore, it is our pleasure to help the Home for the Upbringing of Children and Youth in Osijek through our long-term humanitarian project "Doing Good Every Day". With this donation, which enabled the arrangement of the sports hall, we hope that we have contributed to the creation of better conditions for extracurricular activities and general illness. As a part of our humanitarian project, we have so far made more than fifty donations, which included homes for children and youth, paediatric wards and children's hospitals, all of which confirm our continued commitment to helping the community in which we operate“, said Mislav Blažić, CEO of PBZ Card.
The Centre for the upbringing of children and youth in Osijek is a social welfare institution that currently takes care of about forty beneficiaries in respect of accommodation. The Centre provides accommodation, stay, temporary accommodation, half-day stay and counselling and assistance in a family with two mobile teams operating in two counties: Osijek-Baranja and Vukovar-Srijem. "With the donation of the PBZ Group, we have managed to realize the long-standing idea of renovating the hall, which was in a dilapidated condition. In addition to working on the adoption and development of social and practical skills, we place great emphasis in working with our users on the organization and structuring of quality free time. One of the aspects of quality leisure time is engaging in various sports activities, which has a positive effect on the physical and mental health of our users and encourages socializing and cooperation. Guided by this, our goal was to renovate the sports hall, which has not been renovated in the last thirty years. The renovated hall will be available to users every day and they will be offered various sports activities such as basketball, football, volleyball and others. I would like to thank the PBZ Group and the relevant Ministry of Labor, Pension System, Family and Social Policy for their cooperation and support in the implementation of this donation”, said Goran Tubić, director of the Centre for the Upbringing of Children and Youth in Osijek.
The donation to the Home for the Raising of Children and Young People in Osijek is a part of the socially responsible business project of the PBZ Group, a member of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, which the PBZ Group has been implementing for more than twelve years under the name "Doing Good Every Day".
