Donation from PBZ Group to Children's Home Zagreb

With a donation from the PBZ Group, Children's Home Zagreb has built and equipped a children's playground and an outdoor exercise area

Zagreb, June 1, 2023 - PBZ Group, a member of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, continues to support projects for the benefit of children and young people across the country, as a part of its humanitarian project  “Doing Good Every Day“ and Visa Card with a Heart. With the latest donation in the amount of € 46,436.67 it has enabled the construction and equipping of a children's playground and an outdoor exercise area in the Children's Home Zagreb – Subsidiary "Antun Gustav Matoš".

“We are looking forward to every opportunity to help children and young people in, and we are glad that through our long-standing humanitarian project „Doing Good Every Day“ and Visa Card, we have managed to provide help to the Children's Home Zagreb – Subsidiary A. G. Matoš, by granting this donation of around 46.5 thousand Euro. We hope that the new children's playground and outdoor exercise area, the construction and equipment of which was made possible by this donation, will brighten up everyday moments, play and growing up, and improve the quality of life of the Children's Home beneficiaries. Our permanent commitment and dedication to helping the community is perhaps best confirmed by our project "Doing Good Every Day" and the humanitarian Visa card with a heart, which – this year – complete fifteen years of continuous assistance to the most vulnerable groups of our society – children and young people. For the benefit of children and young people, as part of this project alone, we have so far donated more than 4.2 million Euro and made 70 donations to paediatric departments and children's homes throughout Croatia“, said Dinko Lucić, President of the Management Board of Privredna banka Zagreb.

The Children's Home Zagreb provides social services to children without adequate parental care and their families, and currently has 450 beneficiaries, children and their family members, in institutional and non-institutional services.

"This donation is a continuation of our long-term cooperation with the PBZ group, which we achieved through various humanitarian actions and sponsorships for our Home. Last year's donation from the PBZ Group to Children's Home Zagreb was aimed at the youngest population, and thanks to it, we built and equipped a sensory park at our location at Nazorova 49, with which we have raised the quality of therapy for children in treatment. This year, the donation is intended for the school population – our beneficiaries at the location of the branch "A. G. Matoš“ in Selska cesta 132, where we take care of about forty children between the ages of 7 and 18. Thanks to the donation, we have built and equipped a children's playground for younger children and an outdoor exercise area for older schoolchildren, which they already use to a great extent. I would like to thank the Ministry of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy, the PBZ Group and all those who participated in the realization of this very valuable grant“, said Jasna Ćurković Kelava, the Director of Children's Home Zagreb.

The presentation of the donation was also attended by Marco Elio Rottigni, Chief of Intesa Sanpaolo’s International Subsidiary Banks Division.

Donation to the Children’s Home Zagreb is a part of the socially responsible business project of PBZ Group, a member of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, which the Group has been implementing for fifteen years under the name "Doing Good Every Day". With the funds allocated for this project, the PBZ Group supports national, long-term projects for the benefit of children and young people: "For a better life of children in social care homes" of the Ministry of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy and the projects "With a heart for children with malignant diseases" and “Let's help those suffering from rare diseases" of the Ministry of Health, setting aside ten cents for each transaction made with a Visa card with a heart, at no additional cost to card users. The Group has, so far, raised more than HRK 4.2 million and, including the latest one, has granted a total of 70 donations, including hospitals and social care homes throughout Croatia.
