Rijeka, 24 January 2025 – In the City Museum of Rijeka, the Cube, an exhibition on the life and career of Paolo Rossi and world football legends has been festively opened.
After the exceptional success of the first exhibitions in Rome, Milan, Florence, Turin, Trento, Rimini, Bologna, Belgrade, Venice, Zurich, Tirana and Skopje, the exhibition titled Paolo Rossi, a Golden Boy, and the Football Legends, arrived in Rijeka, Croatia.
It is our pleasure that Privredna banka Zagreb (PBZ), a part of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, is supporting the exhibition, and Dario Massimo Grassani, Deputy President of the Management Board of PBZ, also addressed the attendees.
This international exhibition devoted to the hero of the 1982 World Cup won by Italy and other international champions will be open from 24 January to 14 February 2025, admission free.
Attending the opening ceremony were: Krešimir Šamija, Director General for Sports at the Ministry of Tourism and Sports; H. E. Paolo Trichilo, Ambassador of the Italian Republic to the Republic of Croatia; Snježana Prijić-Samaržija, Full Professor and Rector of the University of Rijeka; Mario Carini, President of the Managemnt Board of the Generali osiguranje in Croatia, Dario Grassani, Deputy President of the Management Bord of PBZ; Federica Cappelletti, Paolo Rossi’s wife; Marin Corva, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Italian Union; Renzo Codarin, President of Feder Esuli; Gianluca Zambrotta, former Italian national football team member and 2006 world champion; Dubravko Šimenc, former Olympic water polo champion on behalf of the Croatian Tourist Board; Marco Schembri, exhibition curator, and Vanja Smokvina, PhD, from the Faculty of Law in Rijeka, co-organiser of the event.
The exhibition chronologically follows the life and career of Paolo Rossi presented in an innovative way through 500 unique items, signs, banners, screens and display tables, i.e. his journey from the beginnings of his career all the way to his legacy to football worldwide, including his most important trophies. Thanks to the FIFA Museum and some of the most important world collectors, a series of unique items such as shirts, cleats, tracksuits, balls, photos, documents, trophies and medals of the greatest world football legends will also be exhibited, including the jerseys of all 47 Golden Ball winners from 1956 until today.
