15th anniv. of the project "Doing Good Every Day"

Through this unique project, the PBZ Group donated around € 4.5 million and granted 76 donations to hospitals and children's homes.

Zagreb, November 22, 2023 - PBZ Group, a member of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group celebrated today, together with its partners, the fifteenth anniversary of its humanitarian project  “Doing Good Every Day” and Visa Card with a Heart.  In the Emerald hall of Hotel Esplanade Zagreb, numerous guests gathered - partners of this project: representatives of the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy, directors of hospitals, heads of clinics and heads of paediatric departments as well as directors of social care homes from various parts of Croatia, partners, friends and other distinguished guests to mark together the important anniversary of this unique project and cards on our market.

The project "Doing Good Every Day" and Visa Card with a Heart were introduced to the market in 2008, and were created with the aim of long-term, continuous assistance to the community in which PBZ Group operates. The Visa card with a heart is a special card that, in addition to financial benefits, has, like no other card on our market, a humanitarian character, since for every transaction made with this card, the PBZ group sets aside ten cents, at no additional cost to its holders. With the collected funds, the PBZ group supports the projects of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy for the welfare of children and young people and other people in need. PBZ Group has donated for this project so far around € 4.5 million and presented 76 donations to paediatric departments and children's hospitals and homes for children and youth throughout Croatia.

"We are extremely proud of our project “Doing Good Every Day” & Visa Card with a Heart. PBZ Group has always stood out for its CSR activities, and with this project and a card, we stand out not only on the Croatian market, but also in the wider region. By creating this project with the significant name "Doing Good Every Day", we wanted to emphasize our continuous dedication and helping the community in which we operate, which is also part of our long-term strategy. The exceptional achievements and longevity of this unique project are confirmation that we have succeeded. PBZ Group, as part of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, one of the leading banking groups in Europe, is extremely dedicated to ESG (environmental, social and management aspects of business) in its operations, in which we want to strengthen our role as a market leader in the future. The project "Doing Good Every Day" is one of the components of our ESG orientation, and we are particularly pleased to continue with the expanded edition of this project. So, in the future, in addition to helping children and young people, we will include a new project called "Helping children, helping the country", whose goal is to equip children's homes with electric vehicles, to enrich the project with a new ESG component - care for the environment", said Dinko Lucić, President of the Management Board of Privredna banka Zagreb and President of the Supervisory Board of PBZ Card.

Representatives of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy, whose projects the PBZ Group supports with funds donated for its humanitarian project, spoke about cooperation with the PBZ Group on the project "Doing Good Every Day".

"The Ministry of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy highly appreciates the long-term engagement and contribution of the PBZ Group, which supports our two projects through the project "Doing Good Every Day". In the framework of the project "For a better life of children in social care homes" in the past nine years, significant financial resources have been collected and donated for the purpose of improving the quality of life of children and young people cared for by the social care system, which has encouraged many positive changes in social care homes throughout the Republic of Croatia. PBZ Group has recently been helping our project called "Helping Children, Helping the Earth", which encourages the development of non-institutional social services, and which, in addition to helping children, also includes an environmental protection component, said Nada Zrinušić, director of the Directorate for Programs and Projects, Ministry of Labour, Family Pension System and Social Policy.

„During all these years, the PBZ Group has contributed to the improvement of the quality of services in the health care system, both through the project "Monitoring children with neurorisks" and today by purchasing equipment in health institutions where the treatment of children with malignant diseases and children with rare diseases is carried out. The initiative of the PBZ group to contribute to the projects of the Ministry of Health by equipping health institutions with the necessary equipment is extremely important. We greatly appreciate the desire and efforts of the PBZ group in joint efforts and contributions to the preservation of the health of our children", said Dunja Skoko-Poljak, Head of the Sector for Public Health and Public Health Protection of the Ministry of Health.

At the event, donations were also handed out as part of three new projects that the PBZ group helps with the funds collected for the "Doing Good Every Day" project. Thus, as part of the project „"Heart for children with malignant diseases”  the Split Clinical Hospital Centre received a donation in the amount of € 48,000 for the purchase of a vital function monitor, a haematology analyser and a perfusor.
