04.05.2022
Zagreb, May 4, 2022 – PBZ Group, a member of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, continues to support projects for the benefit of children and young people across the country as a part of its humanitarian project "Doing Good Every Day". With this most recent grant amounting to HRK 312,232.56 the PBZ group enabled the construction and equipping of a sensory playground in the Children's Home Zagreb.
"We are looking forward to every opportunity to provide aid to children and young people in Croatia. Therefore, we are pleased to provide aid to the Children's Home Zagreb through our long-term humanitarian project "Doing Good Every Day". With this grant, which has enabled the construction of a sensory playground, we hope that we have beautified the everyday moments, the game and the growing up of the beneficiaries of this Home. To provide aid to children and young people only within this project, we have so far allocated more than HRK 27.5 million and realized 62 grants, thus confirming our continued commitment to helping the community in which we operate and which we will nurture in the future“, said Dinko Lucić, President of the Management Board of Privredna banka Zagreb.
Children's Home Zagreb provides social services to children without adequate parental care and their families. Currently, there are 450 beneficiaries, children and members of their families in institutional and external services. At the location of the Centre in Nazorova Street 49, they take care of the youngest beneficiaries, children up to seven years of age, 90 of them. At the same location is the Mother's Home, which provides care for neglected pregnant women and mothers with children, and currently has 18 users.
"One of the very important services for the youngest children who have problems or risks in development is an early intervention. As a part of this service, we provide sensory integration therapy for about thirty children. Thanks to the aid of PBZ Group and their project "Doing Good Every Day", in cooperation with our competent Ministry, today we have a sensory park that will significantly raise the standard of this therapy and help children in treatment. I would like to thank the Ministry of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy, the PBZ Group and all those who participated in the realization of this very valuable grant. This donation is just a continuation of our long-term cooperation with PBZ, through various humanitarian actions and sponsorships to our Centre", said Jasna Ćurković Kelava, the principal of the Children's Home Zagreb.
"Caring for the well-being of children and young people is a fundamental responsibility of the individual, the community, but also the whole society, and as such should be in focus of all our activities and mutual cooperation. PBZ Group's humanitarian action is an example of good practice of social responsibility and cooperation, but their contribution to raising the quality of life of children in social care homes is very significant. The value of this grant, as well as all previous grants worth almost HRK 5 million for social care homes, in addition to being reflected in better living conditions and growing up of children and young people in social care homes, certainly contributes to further public awareness for children who are deprived of living in her own family and encourages the support of the wider community to this group of children and youth", said Marija Pletikosa, State Secretary at the Ministry of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy.
Donation to the Children’s Home is a part of the socially responsible business project of PBZ Group, a member of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, which the Group has been implementing for thirteen years under the name "Doing Good Every Day". With the funds allocated for this project, the Group supports national, long-term projects for the benefit of children and young people: Monitoring of Children Exposed to Neurorisks" launched by the Ministry of Health and "For a better life of children in social care homes launched by the Ministry of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy and meets the current needs of the community, by allocating one (1) HRK for each transaction made with a Visa Heart Card, at no additional cost to cardholders.
